The Board of the Theta Mu Lambda Charitable
Foundation and the members of Theta Mu Lambda Chapter welcome you
to our charitable foundation website. The Foundation’s Board
and the members of the Chapter realize that to attain the treasure
of knowledge is a financial cost. To date, the Foundation’s
monetary blessings through donations and fund raisers have given it
the opportunity to distribute over $125,000 in monetary awards to
students pursuing their college dreams. The Board therefore dedicate
this website to those youths seeking a brighter future through higher
education. |

TMLCF 22nd Black and Gold Ball
On Nov. 19th Theta Mu Lambda Charitable Foundation hosted its 22nd Annual Black and Gold Ball. According to popular polls this year's event was by far the most spectacular of any in recent memory. While the primary purpose of the B&G was to raise funds to advance scholarships to deserving young men, this was truly a party with a purpose. The theme was "honoring Musical Giants" and awards were presented to Lonnie Brooks (Blues), Marshall Thompson (R&B), Jonita Lattimore (Classical), Donald Lawrence (Gospel), Buddy Guy (R&B/Blues). Little did we know we would be treated to impromptu performances by Lonnie Brooks accompanied by Marshall Thompson on Drums and serenaded by the beautiful sounds of Jonita Lattimore during their awards presentations. The Carlos Canon Band and Rich South Jazz Ensemble put the icing on the cake. It was a fabulous evening for an important cause.
Jazz In the Park
On Sunday July 24th Jazz in the Park for Charity, one of the signature summer events in Chicagoland, was held at the Centennial Park in Olympia Fields. Every year Theta Mu Lambda not only supports this event by selling tickets, helping with setup and manning the refreshment station we also come out and enjoy the phenomenal live jazz featured at this event. This year?s event was no exception and a great time was had by all who attended. This is also a fund raising opportunity for TMLCF as a portion of tickets sold by our foundation is donated to our scholarship fund that helps provide tuition support for deserving young males in our service area.
TMLCF Scholarship Golf Outing
On Saturday July 30, 2011 Theta Mu Lambda Charitable Foundation enjoyed a fun day of golf and fellowship all for a great cause. Our Annual Scholarship Golf Outing was held at the University Golf Club and Conference Center in University Park, IL. The weather was perfect for an outdoor event and the venue was equally accommodating. For the past 15 years Theta Mu Lambda Charitable Foundation has sponsored our golf outing to raise funds for advancing scholarships to deserving young men from our community.

Leaders for Tomorrow Program
Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Theta Mu Lambda Chapter will begin its Leaders For Tomorrow Program 2012 in January 2012. The program will meet on Saturdays at Prairie State College from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Leaders For Tomorrow Program provides math and reading instruction. In addition to math and reading instruction, Leaders For Tomorrow students will participate in workshops that include: Public Speaking, Political Awareness, Business Acumen, Personal Finance, Male Responsibility and Sexual Awareness, Law Enforcement, and Personal Health and Fitness.

TMLCF Scholarship Golf Outing
Since 1996, Theta Mu Lambda Charitable Foundation has sponsored a fun day on the golf course to raise funds for advancing scholarships to deserving young men. Please join us for 18 holes of golf, lunch and dinner along with special prizes and all for a great cause. This year's event will be held at the University Golf and Convention Center in University Park, lL.
